Jaselle Martino - Executive Producer

Jaselle Martino is a producer, writer, and director, born in Trinidad and Tobago but currently based in New York City. She has been writing, producing, and directing short films independently through her own production company since 2012.   Her short Bike Tales was nominated for the 2014 Young Artists Awards in Hollywood and also played at a series of festivals, including the Dubai International Film Festival and the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. Shorts she's produced have played at major international film festivals, including TIFF, Dubai, and VIFF. 

 

Her last short film, Don't Go Too Far, which she produced this year, was funded by Enjaaz Dubai and subsequently screened at Dubai International Film Festival/ Cinetech Screenings and at Cannes Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival in May. Jaselle's passion for filmmaking is amplified by the need to undo stereotypical tropes that are used in storytelling and the media.

Inji El Gammal - Executive Producer

Born in Cairo, Egypt, Inji El Gammal grew up in Paris, France where she studied literature and philosophy. Undistracted by the shiny elements in her medium, she is able to fully invest herself in any character. She graduated from the American University in Cairo with a minor in theatre and studied drama therapy at the New School in New York City.

 

El Gammal's notable credits include: the stage play "Under the Tree” played and performed in the Howard Theatre of the American University in Cairo, the stage play “Bismillah” performed in NYC at the Fresh Fruit Festival, for which she won best feature performance award in 2019. Other credits include the independent films “3 Deeds”, “His Man”, “Hello au revoir”, “Postcards of the Orient”, and “Abdo and Saneya.” El Gammal formed Timewormz, a New York-based production company, along with her husband Omar Bakry. El Gammal is also a resident actor at the Simon Studio.

Mohamed Hefzy - Executive Producer

Mohamed Hefzy is an Egyptian screenwriter and producer whose filmography of 30 feature films includes worldwide acclaimed titles MICROPHONE (2010), RAGS AND TATTERS (2013) and C LASH (2016). He has served as a jury member for international festivals including the 75th Venice International Film Festival. As of its 40th edition and for four consecutive years, Hefzy is the appointed President of the Cairo International Film Festival.


In 2005, he founded Film Clinic, the now pioneer production house in the MENA region with a variety of commercial blockbusters & arthouse films that have participated in major film festivals worldwide, including Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Sundance, Toronto, and Tribeca, and with more than 80 international awards under its belt. Later Hefzy founded Film Clinic Indie Distribution, with a mission to create opportunities for Arab independent films within and beyond festival circuits, and co-founded Meem Creative Circle, which produced Netflix’s first Egyptian original series Paranormal.

Jérôme Lateur - Music Producer

Jérôme Lateur is a French-based Music Producer and Music Supervisor known for his work on the Academy Award-winning film "The Artist", which under his supervision won the Oscar for Best Original Score for composer Ludovic Bource. Jerome’s work centers around unique storytelling mixed with dynamic musical scores. Other notable music production works for Lateur include "Dorothy" starring Carice van Houten, and "The Gunman" starring Sean Penn and Idris Elba.
